We’re extremely proud to offer our guests a totally unique cultural experience when exploring Fraser Island thanks to Camp Beaches! – a dedicated indigenous bush camp located at K’Gari. We’ve developed a relationship with the Aboriginal owners of the land at the campsite and together we hope to give you an experience to remember!

There are two resident Aboriginals at Camp Beaches, and if you’re lucky you will get to:

• Listen to dreamtime storytelling – hear how Fraser Island was created according to Aboriginal beliefs
• Learn to play the didgeridoo
• See traditional dances and performance
• Get involved by wearing traditional body paint
• Learn about the Aboriginal history of Fraser Island and the effects of European settlement

And don’t forget the other exclusive facilities! They include:

• Sheltered areas with seating and solar lighting
• BBQs and hot plates for all weather cooking
• FREE showers and real flushing toilets
