The World Heritage listed Great Barrier Reef is one of the seven natural wonders of the world – it’s the world’s largest living structure and the only one that can be seen from outer space! It truly is one of Australia’s most remarkable natural gifts.
The Whitsunday region is the closest point off the Queensland coast to the Great Barrier Reef. Stretching over 2000 kilometres in length, the Great Barrier Reef protects the Whitsunday coast and islands from massive ocean swells – providing some of the safest sailing and cruising grounds in the world.
For diving and snorkelling enthusiasts, this is heaven! The Great Barrier Reef is home to then of thousands of brightly coloured fish species, coral, and other marine life including dolphins, turtles, whales, and more! If you prefer to stay dry you can still enjoy the reef views form underwater viewing chambers, glass bottom boats and coral semi-submersibles.
